Appreciation
Needless to say, the last few months have been the biggest challenge that me and my family have ever faced. You are going along your everyday life thinking that you have big problems and action items to focus on and worries about your career and how your children will face the day when they don't have the latest and greatest shoelaces... Then the rug gets pulled out. It is then that you find out what REAL problems look like. So you circle the wagons and get through the first part on adrenaline. You find out what a friend looks like. They are the one who shows up out of nowhere with a cup of coffee. They are the ones who pick up your children for you because daddy is in the hospital. They show up to your house to sit with you and work around your house when you cannot. It is hard to explain how hard this has been but at the same time I have seen so many acts of kindness and felt so supported because of this. I want to thank all of you that have helped. I want to thank family, friends, the Emergency Services Community, the horse community and even strangers. Your acts of kindness and generosity have touched me and my family more than you will ever know. |
Steve has published a blog to share his story and update all the wonderful people who care.
